A concrete stair on grade bears on a concrete footing with a minimum depth of twelve inches and a thickness of ten inches reinforced with two number four bottom bars. The stair slab incorporates number three bars at twelve inches on center at each stair typical, number four bars at sixteen inches on center on the bottom, and number three nosing bars at each step. Additional reinforcement includes number four bars positioned below each riser and a class A lap splice with a six-inch minimum overlap. A separate inset details the cheek wall connection featuring a three-quarter-inch by five-inch continuous key, bottom reinforcement, and number four dowels at twelve inches on center with standard hooks tying into the building wall or cheek wall.
