Cold-formed steel head assemblies are detailed for four ranges of opening spans from zero to twenty feet. Each assembly consists of fifty-four mil studs paired with matching top and bottom stud tracks, secured using number eight sheet metal screws spaced at twelve inches on center typically and both sides at each stud. For larger openings from fourteen to twenty feet, eight-inch studs are utilized. Openings from eight to fourteen feet incorporate six-inch studs. Openings from four to eight feet incorporate six-inch studs with a fifty-four mil plate on both sides. Openings from zero to four feet utilize standard fifty-four mil studs.
