A shotcrete overlay is applied to the face of an existing concrete beam and reinforced brick masonry wall assembly. The shotcrete layer is reinforced with horizontal and vertical reinforcing bars tied back to the substrate with hooked dowels. An existing steel girder supports the existing concrete floor slab adjacent to the wall assembly.
