A diagonal brace connects to a steel catwalk beam. The assembly uses a structural steel angle brace connected via a gusset plate, with a quarter-inch fillet weld applied on three sides. The catwalk beam features three-eighths-inch stiffener plates welded to the web and gusset plate with quarter-inch fillet welds, along with stiffeners per general structural notes. Continuous quarter-inch by four-inch kick plates are installed on both sides of the catwalk, maintaining a minimum two-inch clearance. A steel angle branch serves as the typical diagonal brace with a coped connection as required.
