A hollow structural section column supports wide flange beams connected via a column top plate with full-depth stiffener plates on each side. A three-eighths by seven-inch splice plate connects the beam elements, secured with bolts sized and spaced per the structural schedule. A quarter-inch fillet weld with full end returns at the top and bottom fastens the splice connection. Notes direct the builder to reference the structural plan and schedule for bolt quantities, hole types, and top plate connection details.
