Steel floor beams connect directly to the web of a vertical steel column using a bolted shear connection with multiple rows of bolts. A concrete topping slab cast over a corrugated metal floor deck bears continuously across the top flanges of the framing members. The structural steel column runs continuously through the vertical plane of the floor assembly.
