A vertical concrete wall construction joint connects a first pour to a second pour using a 1 1/2-inch keyway centered in the wall thickness "T". Twelve-inch long keys are spaced at 24 inches on center, with two rows of keys required where the concrete wall thickness exceeds 16 inches. Typical horizontal wall reinforcement continues across the joint. The joint surface must be cleaned prior to placing concrete for the second pour.
