A supported steel beam frames into the web of a supporting wide-flange beam or hollow structural section using a bolted shear tab connection. The plate size and bolt configuration are specified per standard structural details, with alternative sizes applied at high-load connections indicated on the structural plans. Secondary framing beams occur on both sides of the supporting member where indicated on the structural plans.
