A wood nailer is fastened to the top flange of a structural steel beam using seven-eighths-inch diameter welded threaded rods spaced at sixteen inches on center and staggered with a maximum countersink of three-quarters of an inch. One rod is placed a maximum of nine inches from each end of the nailer and from each splice. The assembly includes provisions for a sub-purlin and up to five-inch diameter maximum holes for pipes spaced at ten feet on center minimum as required per approved sprinkler drawings. Rows of nailing are detailed with specific spacing requirements depending on the line count.
