An exterior concrete column footing supports a steel column on a base plate with anchor bolts. A one-inch thick polyfoam joint wraps around each column, with the top half-inch removed after twenty-eight-day strength is achieved and filled with sealant. A concrete slab-on-grade abuts the column foundation, tied with slab dowels matching the slab reinforcement and featuring a two-foot minimum lap splice. Exterior metal studs and cladding are positioned adjacent to the footing per architectural drawings.
