A wide flange steel beam connects to a hollow structural section column through a steel cap plate and full depth stiffener plates matching the hollow structural section thickness and beam flange width. A shear tab is provided for the incoming beam if needed. Four bolts secure the connection at the cap plate and beam flanges. Block-out one side of the incoming beam bottom flange as required to make the bolted connection at the full depth plate.
