A structural steel truss girder frames into a column utilizing a 7/8 inch by 2 foot 6 inch Grade 50 knife plate welded with a 7/16 inch fillet weld. Three 3/8 inch stiffener plates spaced at 4 inches gauge are centered beneath the knife plate and welded with 1/4 inch fillet welds. A 3/4 inch by 1 foot 2 inch wide plate with two 3/4 inch diameter erection bolts provides temporary connection. A 3/4 inch by 6 inch stabilizer plate is left unwelded to the girder and welded to the column with a 5/16 inch fillet weld.
