A channel section connects to a structural steel beam supporting a metal roof deck opening. An L8x4x1/2 angle welded with five-sixteenths inch fillets secures the channel web to the support angle. The angle leg attaches to the top flange of the beam with a five-sixteenths inch fillet weld. Clearances at the deck opening maintain a zero to three inch typical range with a one inch maximum dimension.
