A typical beam-to-beam connection utilizes a shear plate welded to the web of the supporting member and bolted to the web of the supported beam. The supported beam is coped at the top flange to clear the flange of the supporting girder, maintaining maximum cope depths per note nine and schedule A. All structural steel member sizes and shear plate dimensions are sized per structural plans. Fasteners and plate configurations follow typical shear plate connection standards.
