An equipment housekeeping pad is placed on top of a concrete slab or concrete-on-steel deck with sizing and location coordinated with mechanical, electrical, and architectural plans. The pad includes minimum number four reinforcing bars at ten inches each way, with additional number four bars for pad heights greater than or equal to twelve inches. Anchor rods are installed as required by the equipment supplier. The cold joint between the pad and slab requires bonding or roughening the surface if the pad is poured separately.
