An alternative slab on grade construction joint is supported on compacted grade prepared per the geotechnical report. The concrete slab on grade features typical reinforcement per plan and a minimum ten inch thickened edge at the joint. An asphalt expansion joint filler or equal is placed vertically between the slab pours, topped with a joint sealing compound where required by the architect. An overpour is utilized to level adjacent pours where a floor elevation offset occurs.
