An HSS stair stringer connects to a concrete slab-on-grade using an L3x3x3/8 angle measuring four inches long with a long slotted hole. The angle is welded to the stringer with a quarter-inch fillet weld on three sides. A half-inch diameter threaded Nelson stud secures the connection to a half-inch by four-inch steel plate embedded with two half-inch diameter by four-inch headed studs. The detail is similar at interior stringer conditions.
