A hollow structural section beam frames into a wide flange girder sized per plan using a one-quarter-inch end plate welded with a three-eighths-inch fillet weld around the perimeter. One-quarter-inch web stiffeners are attached to each side of the girder web using one-quarter-inch fillet welds extending three inches at the top and bottom. A one-quarter-inch plate is welded at the connection interface.
