This structural detail shows a buckling-restrained braced frame base plate assembly anchored over concrete foundations with four-inch non-shrink grout. The base plate measures three and one-half inches thick by twenty-seven inches by two feet five inches, fabricated from ASTM A572 Grade 50 steel. The assembly secures with six two-and-one-half-inch diameter ASTM F1554 Grade 105 threaded rods in three-and-three-quarter-inch diameter holes with fifteen-inch projection above the footing. Two additional air holes of the same diameter as the anchor bolts are provided. The column web and flanges connect to the base plate with complete joint penetration welds, along with a gusset plate per the buckling-restrained brace manufacturer requirements where applicable. A square plate measuring seven-eighths by five and one-half inches with a one-sixteenth-inch oversized hole is detailed at the top and bottom with double nuts or spoiled threads.
