A four-inch diameter sleeve passes through a concrete foundation wall, framed by reinforcing steel to distribute loads around the opening. Two number-four bars measuring thirty-six inches in length are placed at the top and bottom of the penetration. Number-four diagonal bars and two number-four ties are positioned on each side of the opening as shown. For larger penetrations, the project engineer must be contacted for specific design instructions.
