Beam-to-beam moment connections appear across three distinct conditions: beams with the same depth, beams with varying depth, and stepped beams. The assembly utilizes top and bottom flange plates welded with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds, alongside bolted web connections referencing typical beam-to-beam connection details. Top plates feature specified thicknesses and widths based on the smaller flange width of the beams, with notes directing installers to leave them unwelded to the supporting beam top flange and maintain a half-inch clearance distance around flange plates with radiused corners. Bottom flange plates match the flange thickness and include slots at deeper beams with one-eighth-inch and quarter-inch minimum clearances. Solid shims are included where required.
