A davit socket pedestal is centered on the column centerline and welded to a seven-eighths-inch thick cap plate atop the column. One-half-inch by ten-inch stiffener plates are welded to the column on each side, omitting locations where shear tabs occur. Framing beams connect to the column via shear tabs with bolted webs and welded flanges. The assembly provides structural support for window-washing or maintenance davit equipment.
