A guide rail connects to a continuous hollow structural section support located beneath a roof deck and wide-flange beam. The assembly uses an L6x4x5/8 angle on each side of the hollow structural section, secured with a three-quarter-inch diameter through bolt centered in a two-inch long vertical slotted hole. The guide rail attaches per the manufacturer's specifications while avoiding the middle one-third of the supporting hollow structural section. Fillet welds of five-sixteenths inch size connect the steel components as specified by the engineering design.
