A pipe or conduit penetrates a concrete slab-on-grade at a thickened slab depression resting on firm undisturbed soil or compacted fill. Typical slab reinforcing is placed per plan within the slab thickness. The thickened slab section extends twelve inches minimum horizontally from the pipe center, with a six-inch minimum depth below the standard slab grade. The pipe or conduit is positioned two inches below the top of the slab with a six-inch vertical clearance dimension to the bottom of the depression.
