An angle brace connects to a gusset plate welded to the top flange and web of a steel beam, with a work point located four inches from the vertical stiffener. A vertical stiffener plate with a small angle clip aligns beneath the work point on the beam web. The beam itself frames into a structural steel column via a bolted shear tab connection.
