An aluminum rectangular tube column sized per plan supports framing members with a top connection secured by stainless steel bolts. An aluminum beam or channel sized per plan bears on the column top, fastened using two three-quarter-inch diameter stainless steel bolts at the center of the member. A one-quarter-inch thick stiffener plate is welded to the beam web where beams occur, detailed with a one-and-a-half-inch offset. Fillet welds sized at one-quarter inch are applied on three sides to secure the connection components.
