Suspended ceiling grid systems require lateral stability provided by a vertical compression strut extending from the underside of the floor or roof structure above down to the intersection of the main and cross runners. A number 12 gauge vertical wire hanger is installed inside the turning level ceiling grid prior to setting the tube, with the tube extended to be tight to the ceiling grid and structure above per the schedule for size. The lower end of the tube is slotted to fit over the ceiling runner. Four number 12 gauge splay wires are positioned in the plane of each runner at approximately a 45 degree angle and secured to the runners approximately 2 inches from the intersection.
