Reinforcing bars in concrete boundary elements, columns, beams, walls, and slabs are spliced using a Class "A" lap splice configuration. The overlapping bars require a minimum lap length of twelve times the bar diameter or twelve inches, whichever is greater, with a minimum clear spacing of one and a half inches or wired in contact.
