A bolted structural chord splice connects a deeper chord member to a shallower chord member along a central splice line. Outside flange plates bear on the top and bottom flanges with bolted connections spaced at three inches typical with two-inch end distances. A web plate centers between the nearest inside faces of the flanges and connects using bolted rows per schedule at four inches on center typical. The top of steel elevation is referenced to the chord.
