Concrete over metal floor deck bears on a structural steel beam at the perimeter of the floor plate. A closure plate spans the edge of the deck with a width determined by dimension L, supported by a three-sixteenths inch weld at twelve inches typical spacing. Additional reinforcement is specified on exterior wall connection details. A three-sixteenths inch plate is used for closure when L is less than six inches.
