A concrete-filled metal deck runs perpendicular to a concrete masonry unit wall, maintaining a one-inch clearance from the underside of the deck. A one-inch gap between the top of the concrete masonry unit wall and the underside of the deck is filled with a compressible material. Steel angles measuring L6x4x5/16 with long legs vertical and matching the beam width are placed on each side, secured with two one-half-inch diameter expansion anchors with three and one-quarter-inch embedment spaced at twelve inches on center. These angles are placed at each end of the wall and at forty-eight inches on center maximum intermediately. Vertical reinforcing bars measuring number four by four feet minimum extend through the concrete masonry unit wall cores.
