A boxed header assembly for cold-formed steel framing at door or window openings consists of nested header tracks sized per schedule, supported at each end by jamb studs. Sixteen-gauge clip angles are secured at each end with three number ten self-drilling metal screws at the top and bottom. Closure tracks extend a minimum of one foot above the header and are fastened from each flange to the stud with number ten self-drilling metal screws spaced at twelve inches on center.
