Drilled and epoxy-grouted dowels connect a concrete masonry unit wall to a concrete wall or column. Typical horizontal reinforcing in the masonry wall laps with the dowels anchored into the concrete element. A joint is provided between the masonry and the concrete wall or column for non-bearing masonry conditions or as noted on architectural drawings. Clearances and splice lengths are specified for proper alignment and structural continuity.
