This connection joins a hollow structural section beam to a hollow structural section column. The beam is connected to the column face using a full-penetration weld, indicated by the 'ts' (total strength or complete joint penetration) weld symbol. The top of steel elevation is determined per the project plans. Both the hollow structural section column and beam sizes are specified per the structural plans.
