A structural concrete construction joint between a first and second concrete pour within a footing features keyed interfaces measuring 5 1/2 inches high by 1 1/2 inches deep typically spaced at 11 inches on center. Reinforcing steel extends across the joint with lap splices measuring 6 inches on either side. An accompanying note allows the use of Type II Erico couplers of ICC-ER 3967 in lieu of standard lap splices.
