Cold-formed steel stud walls require horizontal bridging and strapping to provide lateral bracing and prevent stud rotation. A 43-mil track is installed horizontally as blocking at a maximum spacing of eight feet horizontally and four feet vertically at wall ends, with the flange cut and bent and secured using one number ten screw. A continuous two-inch by 33-mil horizontal steel strap is fastened across the stud framing with two number ten screws per stud.
