A ground conductor connects to the steel column via an exothermic weld, with paint or coating removed before installation. The conductor routes down into a one-inch PVC-80 conduit equipped with a sealing compound where it penetrates the concrete floor slab. A ground ring counterpoise connects to the concrete footing through an exothermic weld.
