A wide flange beam sized per plan bears on an L6x4x3/8 angle located on each side of a hollow structural section 5x5x3/8 guide rail. Full-depth stiffener plates with a minimum thickness of 3/8 inch are detailed per detail 22/S6.1. A 1/4-inch fillet weld is specified on both near side and far side typical. Connection uses 7/8-inch diameter high-strength bolts with vertical slotted holes in angles, centered on the hollow structural section with 1-inch clearance above.
