An opening in a concrete floor over metal deck is framed with structural steel angles installed before coring. The angles are attached to the deck using one-half-inch diameter Simpson Titen HD screws, one-half-inch diameter Powers wedge bolts, or one-half-inch diameter Hilti Kwik Bolt expansion anchors spaced at twelve inches on center with four-inch maximum embedment. Each corner of the opening is core drilled and connected by saw-cutting.
