Three-inch timber decking bears on the bottom flange of a wide flange beam and connects via a continuous L4 x 4 x 3/8 structural steel angle. Fourteen-gauge wood screws spaced at twelve inches on center anchor the timber decking to the horizontal leg of the angle. The vertical leg of the angle is welded to the underside of the wide flange beam bottom flange with a three-sixteenths inch fillet weld with three-inch welds spaced twelve inches on center. The wide flange beam supports a composite concrete slab over metal deck above.
