A steel beam connects to a precast concrete wall panel using a bolted shear tab welded to embedded plates. The concrete panel is reinforced with six number seven vertical bars on each face and number three ties at six inches on center. An eighteen by three-quarter inch by H backing plate is embedded in the concrete with nine three-quarter inch diameter welded studs and full penetration welds. A steel beam, sized per the framing plan, attaches with bolts through the shear tab to the embedded plate assembly. Fillet welds of one-quarter inch size secure the connection at the top and bottom.
