A wide flange beam connects to the web of a wide flange girder using a three-eighths inch thick steel plate welded to the girder and bolted to the beam web. Four seven-eighths inch diameter A325-N bolts with fifteen-sixteenths inch diameter standard holes secure the beam web to the plate at three-inch on-center spacings. A quarter-inch fillet weld secures the plate to the supporting girder web.
