A full-depth connection and stiffener plate fabricated from 36 KSI steel is located on each side of the beam web. The thickness of the stiffener plate matches the beam connection per the engineering schedule with a minimum thickness of three-eighths of an inch. A bottom plate is provided where required when dimension d is greater than D divided by three, with a contractor option to provide an angle brace in lieu of the bottom plate. Bolt connections are specified as slip-critical, utilizing the same diameter as those required by the schedule with as many bolts added as geometry allows. The assembly connects to a frame beam and wide flange beam as occurs, with designated weld sizes and spacing.
