Steel beams frame into a structural steel column topped with a steel cap plate. Beam web stiffener plates or connection plates are welded to each side of the beam web. A steel beam haunch is provided at the top flange connection, sized per structural notes and referenced details. Fillet welds are specified typically at one-quarter inch size. Metal roof deck bears across the top of the steel framing members.
