A vertical hollow structural section column bears on a one-half-inch by six-inch by one-foot four-inch embed plate welded with a three-sixteenths-inch fillet weld on two sides. The embed plate is anchored into a concrete over metal deck assembly using two one-half-inch diameter by three-and-one-half-inch welded studs. The embed plate must be field located so that the studs are positioned within the low flutes of the metal deck at a one-foot-zero-inch spacing.
