Concrete slab step conditions on a metal deck with concrete fill occur for two distinct depth conditions. When dimension d is less than or equal to three-quarters of an inch, the slab reinforcement features a standard offset bend. When dimension d exceeds three-quarters of an inch, the assembly incorporates a lap splice and additional number four nosing bars along all edges. Both conditions accommodate sprayed fire-resistive material applied to the underside of the metal deck where required typically.
