A buckling-restrained brace connects at a steel column and beam intersection. A steel column per plan supports a joist girder and steel beams per plan, tied together with L4x4x3/4 Grade 50 angles fastened by nine one-inch diameter A325N bolts on near and far sides. A one-inch full-height stiffener plate is welded to the beam web with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds on three sides, positioned at the working point of the framing members. Gusset plates and buckling-restrained braces are provided by others, welded with field welds noted as by others. Additional quarter-inch fillet welds secure the connection components on three sides typically.
