A cross-laminated timber panel bears directly on the top flange of a wide flange beam per plan. The mass-timber connection uses five-sixteenth-inch diameter by three and one-eighth-inch Kombi assembly screws spaced at four inches on center, typically with one row on each panel, and similar conditions at blocking. A maximum one-half-inch plywood shim is added as required. At five-ply CLT, one-half-inch diameter by five and one-half-inch Kombi screws are substituted.
