Seismic bracing for a water heater or diaphragm tank mounted against six-inch sixteen-gauge wall studs spaced at sixteen inches on center, with additional studs added as required. The assembly utilizes Unistrut P-1000 seismic bracing channels placed at the top and bottom quarters of the tank height, featuring a continuous back piece placed flush against the tank with wood blocking added at the rear for flush bearing. A one-and-a-half-inch by sixteen-gauge continuous strap connects to the Unistrut frame using half-inch diameter machine bolts on each side. Two connection options are provided for securing the Unistrut frame to the wall structure: Option One uses half-inch diameter bolts securing the Unistrut to each wall stud with a maximum thirty-inch spacing, while Option Two employs a metal lite flush mount backing plate with four number twelve sheet metal screws fastening to the Unistrut.
