Concrete over metal deck spans perpendicular to a wide-flange beam with shear studs welded through the deck. Additional studs are provided at ends to meet the number required in brackets. Deck fasteners or welds are installed where no stud is provided. Stud spacing is twenty-four inches maximum, with a twelve-inch maximum spacing at ends and a one-and-one-half-inch typical dimension unless noted otherwise.
